Date: 26 November 2016
Place: The La Herradura Castle
Two or three times a year the local La Herradura guitar maker Stephen Hill runs a 4 week international guitar making course from his workshop in the village. These courses are attended by people from all over the world coming to learn the art of guitar building with Stephen who has more than 30 years’ experience as a Luthier.
The month is very intensive, right from the start Stephen sets a very high standard that is reflected in the finished guitars, built from special timbers like Indian rosewood and high altitude Swiss spruce.
Reflecting this quality the guitars will be given their first voice in public in the beautiful and acoustically wonderful venue of the Castillo de La Herradura.
Some excellent invited guitarists will express the qualities of each guitar by playing them to the audience. One of which is a special flamenco guitarist Manuel Vasquez who will play 2 of the flamenco guitars. This event is cohosted by the EIGM and the IDG Institute for the promotion of the guitar.
It’s a very special, intimate and unique evening, not to be missed, and it is free of charge.
