What’s happening during the Christmas season
Christmas decorations in Spain aren’t as exuberant as you might be use to in your country of origin, but the Christmas tree in the square and light decorations over the streets certainly brings people into a festive spirit. The events planned for this coming weekend and week will add to that wonderful end of the year feeling.
You might have already checked out the information on our What’s on page, but a quick description won’t hurt, so here we go:
Friday 16 December – 18.00. ‘Christmas Children Gala (Gala de Navidad de los Niños del Ampa “Bahía de la Herradura” with the participation of dance school Solange Janssens, Pura Danza, Taller Musical Fusión Cuerpo y Mente and Elena Farkhutdinova.
Saturday 17 December – 12.00 and 16.00. Christmas sweets workshop for children and adults in the Civic Centre.
Saturday 17 December 18.30 . Traditional Christmas concert in the San José Church.
Sunday 18 December 18.00. Children’s festivities with lots of great activities in the Plaza de La Independencia.
Miercoles 21 December . Christmas Gala 18.30 in the Theatre of the Civic Centre
From 21 to 24 December – 6.00 in the morning. Rosario de La Aurora, This is a typical La Herradura tradition of choirs singing in the church and then in the streets in the old village centre. So whether you are still up or having to get up for this, it is very special to witness.
Thursday 22 December 8.00 – 14.00 – Christmas Celebration by the Las Gaviotas public school in the Theatre of the Civic Centre.
Thursday 22 December 19.00 – “Zamboombá Flamenca”, in the Plaza de La Independencia
Friday 23 December – 20.00 – Belén Viviente with Choir music in the Plaza de la Independencia.
Saturday 24 December 00.00 – Traditional night Mass in the San José church.
