Hector was found by one of our volunteers with two other dogs, Daphne ( who also came to Valle Verde ) and a podenco. The three dogs were found on wasteland in Motril. Apart from being in a bad way they were also extremely mis-trusting of humans. Our volunteer was unable to catch them but went to feed them for several months. The podenco was caught, spayed and taken in by a podenco rescue in Murcia. However, Hector and Daphne disappeared. We couldn’t find them after months of feeding. Several weeks later Hector and Daphne returned to the
wasteland. Poor Hector was in a very bad way. He was wrapped in wire which was cutting into his neck. We think that he had been caught in a trap and eventually worked himself free. Daphne is believed to have
stayed with him all that time so he wasn’t alone. Thankfully we were then able to catch them both and bring them to Valle Verde where they have received all the care and treatment they needed. Daphne will be going off this month to start her new life with a family in Norway. Hector sadly has yet to find a family of his own. He is a great dog and good with children. He certainly deserves to have a family of his own……..
