Master of American blues and jazz guitar, Bill O’Haire will perform a special solo concert at the Casa de la Cultura in Almuñécar on November 1, 2017, at 9 pm. Bill has been praised by Bob Dylan, Michael Bloomfield, Jerry Garcia, Jimi Hendrix bassist Noel Redding and Kinks’ drummer Mick Avory – all of whom he has played for or with. Known as both a “keeper of the flame” as well as an innovator, he combines the soaring, string-bending emotional power of blues and rock with the harmonic complexity and melodic creativity of jazz.
Developing his style as part of the San Francisco music scene in the 70s, Bill also played with members of the Jefferson Airplane, before moving to Amsterdam where he recorded his first album, and performed throughout Europe with the Bill O’Haire Trio, including the Amsterdam Blues Festival. He moved to the Costa Tropical in 2015, and last year was featured in the La Herradura Blues Festival.
