This Sunday the Joven Orquesta Mediterránea inaugurates its 2017/2018 concert season with the interpretation of the Symphony 9 “La Grande”, by Franz Schubert and the Overture “Las Hebrides” by Félix Mendelssohn, under the direction of Michael Thomas.
This will be the first of the ten concerts planned to carry out by La Joven Orquesta Mediterránea in Almuñécar until this summer.
The Orchestra is made up of young musicians from Malaga, Jaén. Almeria, Cadiz and Granada and other cities such as Ciudad Real, Jerez or Manzanares.
The first concert will take place this coming Sunday, at 20.00 hours, in the auditorium of the Casa the la Cultura.
The second concert will be the “New Year” concert, which is programmed for Tuesday, January 2. At 20.00 hours, with the works: Suite “Peer Gynt”; Edwarga Grieg; Polkas, waltzes … by Strauss. This same concert will be interpreted in Motril, the following day, on 3 January, and in the locality of Jaen de Huelma, on 4 January.
In February the young Mediterranean Orchestra will have double performances in Almuñécar in the Casa de la Cultura on 11 and 18, when programming “Beethoven’s Integral concerts for piano”.
In March, on the 25th the concert will be dedicated to the great composers Beethoven and Brahms.
In April the Orchestra will be playing on the 22nd with a so-called Concierto de Primavera (spring concert) and the final of the season will take place on 7 August, the “Concierto de Verano” (summer concert).
